Dance Policies and Procedures

Registration:  A non-refundable fee of $15 per student is required yearly at time of registration. Registration fee is for new students and returning students.

Payment of Fees:  Tuition must be paid by automatic bank account, debit card payment. First and last month’s payments have to be paid the day of registration. Payment with cash or check has to be made for the whole Year (End of the June).

Payment by Automatic Bank Account, Debit Charge:
Tuition will be debited from your bank account on the 1st day of each month from September-June. The first and last month are non-refundable.  You must sign an auto-debit charge authorization form. Bank Debit payments are not accepted for in-person payment on a monthly basis.  Payment must be made by pre-authorized automatic monthly payment.

Class Uniform Fees: Uniform fees must be paid at the time of registration by check or credit card. Uniform fees are NON-REFUNDABLE even if a student withdraws from the school. Uniform fees must be paid same day of registration.
Combo class uniform fee: $40 (including: Ballet leotard, tights, skirt) Shoes have be pink ballet, black tap
Ballet class uniform fee: $40 (including: Ballet leotard, tights) Shoes have be pink for Ballet
Jazz class uniform fee: $40 (including: jazz pants, t-shirt) Shoes have be black sneakers or black sport shoes
Tap classes’ uniform fee: $40 (including: jazz pants, t-shirt) Shoes have be black tap
Hip hop classes uniform fee: $40 (including: pants, t-shirt) Shoes have to be black Jazz or sneakers.

Withdrawal and Refunds:  There is a two-month minimum for all lessons.  One month written notice from the first week of the month is required to discontinue any classes.  Withdrawals must be done in person and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawal must be done at the school’s (Pro Dance Center) office, not with the teacher.

Withdrawals must occur within the first 7 days of the month.  No withdrawals will be accepted from January 1st.  To withdraw from classes a parent or adult student must:
1.    Inform school administration in person, and
2.    Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the school office.
All automatic bank debiting charges will stop after the one-month notice period. The PRO DANCE CENTER reserves the right to terminate lessons to any students without notice.

$150 Cancellation Fee for early cancellation will be applied.

Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes:  If the school must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, the missed lessons will be added on to the end of the teaching year.  No refunds for lessons missed due these reasons will be given.

Substitutions:  The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes.  If a teacher is ill and the school cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made up.


Dress Code: Required dancewear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes.  Failure to wear required dancewear to class could result in students being asked to sit out the class.  Repeated failure to wear required dancewear could result in termination of lessons.  Students are not permitted to wear jeans or shoes worn on the street or outdoors, to any dance class. 
For safety reasons dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry.  Long hair must be tied back. Hair in all of the Ballet Classes (age 7 – up) have to be Bun. Short hair has to be back.
New Uniform Purchases are required by all students, new and existing (if uniform is not proper).

Attendance and Lateness: The school reserves the rights to have students who come more than 5 minutes late to class, sit out the class.  Repeated lateness may result in termination of lessons.  A minimum attendance level will be required.  If a student misses more than 4 classes without written notices, the school reserves the right to terminate lessons.

Dance Recital (End year show):  Mandatory for all yearly program payment. This means students that choose yearly program payment have to purchase the Recital package (End year show)

Parent’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events: It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all school activities, such as viewing days, recitals, extra classes, and dates the school is open or closed.  The school will post all such notices on the board or the dance bulletin board. It is the parent’s responsibility to regularly check these boards to ensure they are informed.

Refunds and makeup classes:
There are no refunds for costume fees. There are no refunds for any classes. Because of small classes and high quality of school, there will be no make up classes at all. There will be no make up classes the day of performing or recitals. If a teacher is ill and the school cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made up. Classes less than 3 students will be only ½ hours.

Care of Students:  The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.  Parents with students under the age of 6 are to remain in the school during classes. We are not responsible if your child needs to use the restroom and you are not present to take them.  Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time before or after class.

Injuries:  Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.

Photo and video Release:  The school is hereby granted permission to take video and photographs of the students to use in brochures, web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the school creates.  Permission is also hereby granted for the school to copyright such photographs in its name.

Miscellaneous:  Parents and adult students are to be aware that the school promotes healthy body image among the students.  As such we approve if our teachers snack during the course of the teaching day.  Parents are to be aware that dancing as a profession is physically demanding and proper body care is essential.

Rules in dance classes: No talking, gum chewing, eating or drinking (except water) are allowed in the class room. Students must be on time. Class schedule is subject to change without notice.

Classes will run with 3 students. (Class will be cancelled if there are less than 3 students.)
